Building a new North American headquarter

The Brief

Irdeto had introduced Microsoft's New Way of Work at their headquarter in Amsterdam. Since this initial rollout was a success it was decided to transform subsequently every other office the same way.
The North American headquarter was at capacity and we were tasked with managing the relocation to new premises and implementing the New Way of Working.

The Approach

After spending time with the local stakeholders and identifying the requirements in detail, we could highlight that not all requirements were fully considered and recommended increasing the project budget by 40% to be able to successfully meet the project objectives.
Our approach was based on three project stages:

  1. Preparation of the current infrastructure and the new office space
  2. Relocation of the existing data centre and staff
  3. Closure of the old location

The Challenges

We managed the project mostly from the European headquarter with only little time on-site in Canada. As a result we had to rely heavily on the local IT team and partners which required thorough planning and coordination due to timezone differences.

The Result

The project was considered a full success - we managed to circumvent any obstacles, move on the agreed date and the final cost was .5% below the agreed budget.
